In Sanskrit “Mandala” means ‘circle.’ They are sacred symbols that are used across many cultures for meditation, prayer, healing, and art therapy. 

I draw mandalas because I find the practice to be meditative. One line leads to, informs, and directs the next...slowly, the design emerges. 

And mandalas have some pretty incredible healing properties too. 

Clinical studies have shown that mandalas can: 

  • Reduce stress
  • Boost the immune system
  • Reduce pain
  • Lower blood pressure
  • Promote sleep
  • Ease depression

  • How incredible is that?
